Ishana Dance Academy was created with the vision to empower kids for their better future, better community and better world. Ishana Dance Academy offers a structured Bharatanatyam learning program based on the Kalakshetra style of instruction, while simultaneously tailoring it to suit student’s individual needs. Kalakshetra Style emphasizes on nimble movements and subtle emotions. It is the most beautiful of all styles of Bharatanatyam.

Vasanthy Raja, was born to a family of high cultural value and spiritual background. She has family origin in Thanjavur, TamilNadu that has rich culture and heritage, especially in Carnatic music and Classical dance. She started learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 7 and did her Arangatram at the age of 13. She continued to learn Bharatanatyam and perform at various venues, both national and international stages.She has a great passion for music. To further her career in dance, she professionally learnt Nattuvangam. She believes that it is her turn to teach and spread to young aspirants ,what she learnt ,experienced, and enjoyed from this famous art form of Bharatanatyam. She founded Ishana Dance Academy to teach Bharatanatyam to the next generation of dancers.

Vasanthy is thankful to her gurus Mr.Irudhaya Nathan and Mr.Saravanan, who have guided and shaped her to become a good dancer.Vasanthy is very thankful to her parents who recognized her talent and supported her to realize her dream to become a Bharatnatyam dancer.She dedicates all her achievements to her parents, who supported her and she would not have realized her dream without their support. Vasanthy is thankful to her husband for all the support to pursue her passion to teach Bharatanatyam
